Questions 1:- How long does the listening part of the test take to complete?

Answer – It takes approximately 30 minutes.

Questions 2:- How many questions and sections are there in the listening part of the test?

Answer – There are 4 sections and 40 questions in the listening part of the test.

Questions 3:- Are candidates given time during the test to read the questions and then write down and check their answers?

Answer – Candidates hear the recording once only and answer the question as they listen. Ten minutes are allowed to transfer their answers to the answer sheet.

Questions 4:- How long is the Reading part of the test?

Answer – 60 minutes.

Questions 5:- How many questions and sections are there in the Reading test?

Answer – There are 3 sections and 40 questions in the reading test.

Questions 6:- The Writing test has two Tasks – Task 1 and Task 2. How long should candidates spend on each task?

Answer – Task 1 for 20 minutes and Task 2 for 40 minutes.

Questions 7:- Are the writing tasks the same for everyone? If not what is the difference, and in which tasks?

Answer – Writing test Task 1 is different for the Academic and general Candidates. For the academic a candidate has to describe or explain a diagram or some data (graph, table or chart) and for the general training candidates they have to respond to a given problem with a letter requesting information or explaining a situation.

Questions 8:- How long does the speaking test take?

Answer – It takes between 11 and 14 minutes.

Answer – There are three parts.

Questions 10:- In which part of the test does the candidate have a long turn?

Answer – Part 1 and part 3.

Questions 11:- How long is part 2 of the test?

Answer – A candidate has one minute to prepare and to speak for between one and two minutes.
